These terms are the agreement between you and Rekto Digital LLC ("we", "us") for the use of PlankCAD ("the Service") at plankcad.com. By creating an account you accept them. They are deliberately short and specific; if a clause seems unfair, say so at support@plankcad.com.
PlankCAD is browser-based estimating and quoting software for woodworking shops. It prices a job from the material, hardware, labour, waste, overhead and margin figures you enter, produces a customer-facing quote as a PDF, nests parts onto sheet stock, tracks offcuts, and records what a job actually cost against what you estimated.
The arithmetic is deterministic: the same inputs always produce the same totals. There is no AI model deciding your prices, and nothing you type is sent to one.
You must be 16 or older and able to enter a contract. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it. One account is for one shop; you may not share login credentials with people outside your business.
New accounts get a 14-day free trial of the whole product, capped at a stated number of saved estimates and requiring no payment method. There is no permanent free tier. When the trial ends without a subscription, the account becomes read-only: everything you made stays readable and exportable, and nothing is deleted because you did not subscribe.
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis — monthly or annually, as chosen at checkout — through Stripe, at the price shown on the pricing page at the time you subscribe. You may cancel at any time from Settings → Billing → Manage Billing, where the exact options (immediately, or at the end of the current period) are shown before you confirm. If a payment fails, paid access may stop immediately; your saved work is never deleted for that reason, and access returns automatically once payment succeeds.
If we change the price, we will tell you by email before it applies to you, and you may cancel before it takes effect rather than accept it.
If you subscribe to PlankCAD Pro and decide within 30 days of your first payment that it is not right for your shop, email support@plankcad.com and we will refund that payment in full. You do not need to give a reason.
Refunds are processed by a person, not automatically, which is why we ask you to email rather than click a button. Any other refund request outside this guarantee is handled case by case; contact us using the details below.
You keep every right in what you put into PlankCAD and everything it produces from that — your estimates, quotes, cut lists, customer records and rates. We claim no ownership and no licence to use them for anything except running the Service for you. We do not use your commercial figures to train anything, and we do not look at them except where you ask us to for support, or where we must to fix a fault.
The Service itself — the software, the site and the brand — remains ours.
PlankCAD calculates; it does not decide whether a price is right. Every figure it produces is derived from numbers you supplied. If a material cost, a labour rate, a waste percentage or a margin target is wrong or out of date, the total will be confidently wrong, and it will look exactly like a correct one. Check an estimate before you send it to a customer and before you commit to a price.
The same applies to the cut list and sheet optimiser: nesting is computed from the dimensions and kerf you enter, against sheet sizes you specify. It does not know about a defect in a board, a grain match you care about, or the way your saw actually cuts. Confirm a layout before cutting material.
To the maximum extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is", without warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
We aim to keep the Service running and will not promise a figure we do not measure. Maintenance, provider outages and faults happen. We may add, change or withdraw features; if we withdraw something you depend on, we will give notice and, where we can, a way to get your data out of it first.
You may stop and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we are required to act against, or whose payment has failed and stayed unpaid — and other than for serious abuse, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix it. On closure you can export your work; after that it is purged on the schedule in the Privacy Policy.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profit, lost business or lost data arising from your use of the Service — including a job priced from an estimate you did not check. Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, and the courts there have jurisdiction — except where the law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim locally, which these terms do not take away.
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights or what you pay, we will email you before it takes effect so you can cancel instead of accepting it. Minor corrections take effect when posted. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
If any clause is unenforceable, the rest stands.
