Plank CAD ("we", "us", or "our") operates Plank CAD at plankcad.com. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our service.
Information We Collect
When you use Plank CAD, we may collect:
Account data: Your email address and authentication credentials, used to sign you in and identify your projects.
Prompts you submit: The text descriptions you enter to generate blueprints. These are sent to Google's Gemini API, and — only when needed as an automatic fallback — OpenAI's API, to generate your results.
Blueprint and project data: Generated blueprints, project names, and edit history are stored on our servers (via Supabase/Postgres) so your work is available across devices and after clearing your browser. A local copy is also cached in your browser's local storage for faster loading and short-term offline access, but our servers — not your browser — are the retained copy.
Billing data: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment details are collected and processed directly by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. We retain only your subscription status and Stripe customer/subscription identifiers.
Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and interactions with the application, collected via standard web analytics.

Third-Party Services
Plank CAD uses Google's Gemini API, and OpenAI's API as an automatic fallback if Gemini is unavailable, to process your prompts. Your prompts are subject to Google's Privacy Policy and, when the fallback is used, OpenAI's Privacy Policy. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Data Retention
Blueprint and project data is stored on our servers for as long as your account is active, so it's available across devices and sessions. When you delete a project, it is marked deleted immediately and removed from your view; the underlying record is permanently purged from our servers within 30 days. When you delete your account, the same 30-day purge applies to your remaining data. A local copy of recent blueprints is also cached in your browser's local storage purely for faster loading — clearing it does not delete anything from our servers.
